What Should I Serve at a Birthday Party for Dogs?

Birthday cake, of course! Everybody loves to celebrate birthdays and your doggie is no exception to the rule. We suggest you make your own doggie birthday cake for your canine friend, and we will provide you with our special recipe.

If you are expecting many doggie friends at the birthday party for dogs, don’t forget to also make treat bags for them to take home, just like their human companions. Buy a store made birthday cake for the humans as they have the regular ingredients, but for your special doggie, go all out to make the best birthday cake ever!

Birthday cake for dogs’ recipe:

  • 1 egg
  • 65g peanut butter, smooth or creamy
  • 60ml vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or 2 tsp. vanilla flavouring
  • 80g honey
  • 135g grated carrots
  • 120g wholemeal flour
  • 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda

Instructions:
Preheat the oven to Gas/level 4 or 180 C.
Oil or spray a medium square or ring cake glass dish or tin, aluminium is good also.
Mix together the peanut butter, oil, egg, vanilla, honey, then add the carrots, and lastly sift the soda and flour together and fold gently into the carrots, etc.
Spoon the batter into the cake tin.

Bake for 40 minutes, cool in the tin for 10 minutes, then turn onto a cloth to cool completely before serving.

Do not serve your doggie guests ice cream, as they can be lactose intolerant. Your human guests can have ice cream at the birthday party for dogs.
